Traps in Bunker vs Verity are most useful after the bunker already channels enemies through a known contact point. Place one where a test wave proves enemies walk, inspect whether it resets or is consumed, and combine its delay or damage with turret and player fire. Do not scatter traps around routes that have never been used.

Community-observed
Spike or contact damage
Role: repeat or direct damage at the choke.
Inspect: trigger area, reset, durability, price.
Use for: routine traffic if the live card supports repeat use.
Community-observed
Bear or snare control
Role: hold a target inside gun coverage.
Inspect: target limit, duration, reset, pathing.
Use for: priority pressure at a visible contact point.
Community-observed
Glue or slow control
Role: extend time inside overlapping fire.
Inspect: area, duration, affected targets, stacking.
Use for: groups crossing a sustained turret lane.
Community-observed
Mine, TNT, or explosive
Role: high impact at a chosen moment.
Inspect: charges, trigger, radius, replacement cost.
Use for: dense packs or durable pressure, not empty ground.

Electrical or special control
Role: current-card effect such as damage or disruption.
Inspect: exact description and unlock condition.
Use for: a documented gap in the defense network.

Prove the contact point first
Run a manageable wave with the shell and main lane complete. Watch where enemies turn, bunch, touch the wall, or leave turret sight. Mark that spot mentally before buying. A trap only helps when its trigger overlaps real movement.
The first contact point is not always the best trap point. If it lies beyond player and turret coverage, move the channel inward. The ideal location makes the trap hold or damage enemies while other defenses can capitalize.
Check whether enemies can route around the placed object. If they do, close the bypass, widen the trigger area only if the current trap supports it, or reposition. Do not fill every possible route with purchases before understanding pathing.
Combine trap and turret roles
A slowdown belongs in the section with the longest reliable automated coverage. A snare can hold a durable enemy inside a focus angle. Contact damage can soften routine packs at the choke. A limited explosive should trigger where enough threat reaches it to justify the replacement cost.
Keep sightlines clear. A large trap model or its support should not block a low turret. Leave room for players to shoot, repair, and retreat around the contact point.
Coordinate in co-op. One player can call when a priority target reaches the trap while another focuses fire. If placement ownership or activation differs by player, verify it before the raid instead of assuming shared control.
Check trigger, reset, and cost
Read the current card for trigger rules, charges, cooldown, reset, durability, and affected targets. If those fields are not displayed, observe one low-risk activation. Do not label a trap reusable or single-use based only on its appearance.
Compare replacement cost with the reward and repair needs of the run. A costly one-use item may be appropriate for a planned durable wave, but inefficient against the first small group. A repeatable control effect can be worth more than a larger single hit when it extends several turrets’ firing time.
Preserve a reserve after placement. A trap cannot repair a breached shell or restore bunker health.
Build a two-stage trap lane
Stage one delays or groups enemies while they remain under long and sustained fire. Stage two catches survivors near the shell with contact damage or a stronger limited response. Do not build both stages immediately if the first has not been tested.
Keep enough distance between stages for the first effect to matter. Stacking triggers on the exact same tile may waste effects or consume several charges on one target, depending on current behavior. Test rather than assuming stacking rules.
The player position belongs behind or beside the second stage, with a clear route to the bunker and underground room. Never block that route with trap clutter.

Trap FAQ
Where should I place the first trap?
At a contact point proven by a test wave, inside turret and player coverage, without blocking the repair or retreat path.
Are mines and TNT one-use?
Do not assume. Read the current card and watch one activation for charge, reset, or replacement behavior.
Should I buy traps before turrets?
Complete the shell and establish reliable lane damage first. Add a trap when it extends that network or solves a documented durable threat.
