Turrets are the automated part of Bunker vs Verity defense. Choose them by the job the current stat card supports: steady lane coverage, rapid pack damage, close-range pressure, long-range opening fire, or heavy focus against a durable threat. Placement and firing time matter as much as a displayed damage number.

Community-observed role
Basic coverage
Purpose: affordable first automated lane.
Inspect: live cost, range, rate, target behavior.
Best for: testing the choke before a larger purchase.
Verification: current menu and live firing test.
Community-observed role
Rapid or Gatling fire
Purpose: sustained pressure on groups.
Inspect: firing duration, range, downtime, unlock.
Best for: long visible lanes with many ordinary targets.
Verification: current card; names may change.
Community-observed role
Close or Shotgun fire
Purpose: high pressure near the choke.
Inspect: effective distance, spread, blind zone.
Best for: a controlled contact point, not a distant open lane.
Verification: test where enemies actually bunch.
Community-observed role
Long or Sniper fire
Purpose: early hits and focused range.
Inspect: shot interval, target priority, obstruction.
Best for: an open approach with a stable view.
Verification: live card and target tracking.
Variable availability
Heavy or special fire
Purpose: solve a specific late-pressure problem.
Inspect: currency, condition, control mode, tradeoff.
Best for: tested durable targets or breached lanes.
Verification: current server only.
These are tactical roles, not a promise that every named turret appears in every version. Current community pages have used names such as Basic, Gatling, Shotgun, and Sniper. Read the live build menu before planning around a specific item.
Read the turret card correctly
Start with acquisition. Check the currency, unlock condition, and whether the item is free-path, rebirth-linked, event-linked, pack-based, or premium. Do not compare two items as equals if one requires a different progression route.
Then compare damage behavior, not only damage per hit. Range determines how long targets remain visible. Firing rate affects packs. A slow heavy shot may waste impact on a weak target if current targeting cannot be controlled. A fast gun may struggle when armor or durable enemies are the actual failure.
Inspect rotation, firing arc, placement footprint, and any direct-control option in the current client. Public information does not establish every targeting rule. A short test reveals more than a copied stat list.
Buy the first turret for information
The first affordable turret proves whether the planned lane works. Put it where it sees the approach, then start a manageable wave. Watch when it acquires a target, how long it fires, whether walls interrupt it, and where enemies leave its view.
If it remains idle, move it before buying a second one. If it fires through the full lane but ordinary enemies still reach the wall, add sustained coverage or player pack damage. If one large target remains, save for a focus role rather than duplicating a weak answer.
Keep coins for shell repair. Automated damage cannot protect a bunker after an unclosed route lets enemies bypass the line.
Combine turret roles
Use the longest useful sightline to begin damage, a sustained role through the middle, and close pressure near the choke. You do not need all three in the first bunker. Add layers when the previous one has been tested and the budget can still repair the shell.
Overlap the most important part of the approach, but avoid placing every turret in one cluster. A single obstruction or side leak can disable the whole cluster. A second angle should continue shooting when targets pass the first wall edge.
In co-op, decide who watches turret performance and who covers leaks. If the current version allows direct turret control, test what automation stops while a player operates it and how quickly that player can return to a held gun or repair task.
Match turret to observed failure
The alternative may be cheaper and more effective. A turret purchase should follow a diagnosed need, not replace inspection.
Verify after updates
Open every relevant turret card and note its current currency, cost, unlock, displayed stats, and description. Place or observe one in a low-pressure wave. Compare the real firing arc and target behavior with the card. If a community list conflicts, keep the live result.
Do not assume a previous rebirth requirement, premium price, or event availability still applies. New experiences can rebalance quickly, and servers may update at different moments. Rejoin if the UI and behavior appear mismatched.
Turret FAQ
Which turret is best?
The best turret is the current option whose role answers your tested failure and fits the lane. An affordable gun that fires continuously can outperform a stronger blocked one.
Why does a turret stop firing?
Check target range, wall and terrain obstruction, rotation arc, current target behavior, and whether direct control changed its mode. Move it and retest before upgrading.
Should I stack turrets together?
Overlap damage at the choke, but preserve different angles, player movement, and repair access. One obstruction should not disable the whole network.
